In order to become a Bio Technologist you will need to complete a minimum of 60 hours of education through either a certificate program on-the-job training, or a graduate program in order to get your license. A student that has been enrolled in a training course at the accredited university level will usually need around a year to finish it. This exam is given every three years, but you do not have to wait to take it.
The exam is actually comprised of six different sections. The first of which is the Theory section. This section is where you will learn about the different aspects of the Biotechnology industry. You will also find out about basic biology terminology, anatomy and other biology concepts.
After you have learned all the basic concepts in the Theory section, the second section that will be given on the exam is called the Quantitative Analysis section. You will learn about how to measure various biological processes. As you do this you will need to write a hypothesis as to how your data came out, and why it came out the way that it did.
The third and final section of the exam will be the Applications and Research sections. You will learn about how to perform different medical experiments, study laboratory experiments, and other things like this.
If you pass the exam, then you will have an idea of what to expect when taking the exam the next time you take it. The only thing left for you to know is if you want to become a bio-technician.
The great career path that you can take is to become an engineer. Engineer jobs tend to pay much better than what a Biotech salary would be. If you decide to go this route, then you will need to complete your bachelor’s degree to qualify for a job in that field.
If you do your research on the various Biotech jobs you can find, you will be able to find a job that you will enjoy. and make a good living. There are plenty of people who work in the field doing both Biotech and engineer jobs at the same place.
Once you have finished the required coursework and passed your Biotech exam, you will need to take the licensing exam to become licensed to work in the field. It is important for people to realize that their license comes with restrictions and limitations, however, such as not being able to get your own business.
However, if you take care of your license you can work toward having a great career in the field. The other limitation is the cost associated with getting it. The licensing exam is typically very expensive. and can easily cost in the tens of thousands of dollars depending on where you live.
When you pass your Certification test and become a licensed Biotech, the next step is to find a job in the field. Since the field is always growing, there will always be plenty of job opportunities to work in.
As an example, if you wanted to work for the government, you would first need to get certified and then work there for some time before you could become a bio-technologist. Once you get certified, you can apply for jobs in the government and start working for them.
If you keep up with your studies and work hard, you will soon find yourself working in a great career and making a decent income in no time. You might even find yourself in a position to purchase your own business or even run one of your own.
