The main reason for the bad reputation of MBA Managerial Finance is that many new graduates (especially those who have never had any previous experience with finance) are attracted to the subject by the lure of financial gain. They see it as a way to get on the fast track to getting their first full time job in finance, and if they get good grades then they might even land themselves a paid summer internship at a bank or a consultancy.
The problems with MBA Management Finance are twofold. First of all, many students find that they don’t understand the subject very well. Some of this can be attributed to the fact that they haven’t worked in finance before, and so their lack of understanding about the subject can lead to them being too “hands off” and not really doing much with their degree.
The other problem is that most people will expect their employers to pay for a Masters in Finance before they would consider hiring them anyway, which is a pretty good thing if you are interested in a career in finance or banking. However, in many fields, especially in the finance industry, the cost of acquiring an undergraduate degree can easily wipe out the financial aid package that students receive.
So, as you can see, it is very important that students understand the difference between a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Masters in Financial Management (MSFM). Both are extremely effective and highly valued degrees in today’s business environment, and both require very similar educational components, but MBA programs require more practical work than MSFM programs. As such, it is far more important that students understand the differences between these two degree programs.
Another reason that MBA Managerial Finance is less popular than other graduate business programs is that the coursework often doesn’t have enough in common with the other MBA programs. Many Business Schools put more emphasis on business law and marketing than they do finance, which means that students will have a much shorter learning curve than those who study Finance at other Business Schools.
It’s easy to see why MBA Managerial Finance has only recently emerged as a viable alternative to Finance, especially with the increased importance placed upon global economies. However, if you are thinking of going into the Finance industry, you should certainly investigate this option as a graduate program, or at least take one during your undergraduate career.
If you have already completed your Masters in Business Administration (MBA), you can continue on with your MBA in Management Finance and start your career in finance without having to take further coursework. Just be prepared to put in plenty of effort and dedication to ensure that you learn all of the necessary business-related skills that will serve you well in the finance industry, so that you can make the transition smoothly.
If, however, you have yet to complete your bachelor’s degree, you can still take an MBA in Management Finance and then move onto a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance or a Bachelor of Business Administration (BSBA) if you are looking to move into accounting. However, you’ll have to take a second or even third year course in Finance in order to get a degree in Finance or accounting in the BBA program.
So, as you can see, MBA Managerial Finance does not require as much in the way of coursework, and if you don’t have a Bachelor of Science in Business or Accounting, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), or Master’s degree in Accounting, a Masters in Finance can be the perfect choice for you. and your career in the finance industry.
You should take the time to find out what type of business management you want to enter in order to determine whether or not an MBA is the right course for you. MBA in Finance is a great option for you and your career, especially if you are interested in a career as a financial analyst or in corporate finance, and you should investigate options like executive MBA programs that can help you with your career goals.
